Restoration Projects
Making sure your new-found vehicle or implement is safe and functional is imperative for the health and safety of both humans and horses.
Restoration can be as simple as cleaning to remove old oil & grease. Or it may include near complete rebuilding or replacement as might be the case with old wooden equipment.
The main goal of restoration is to do just that – restore the original appearance and/or functionality, as we did with the Studebaker Sprinkler Wagon. There is a lot of difference between restoring and repairing, depending on the extent of the damage and decay. You may achieve functionality with a repair, but restoring an item properly is often a labour of love and best done by someone who knows what they’re doing.
“In my time at Heritage Park Historical Village I have on many occasions had the opportunity to work with Alberta Carriage Supply. Dale and Terry have repaired and restored several pieces of our collection and their retail store and website has been helpful for sourcing parts and supplies for our operation. In addition, they have contracted teams and equipment for various special events held here at the Park over the past 20+ years. Heritage Park has also attended and enjoyed clinics and demonstrations hosted or delivered by Alberta Carriage Supply. I appreciate how they work hard to bring the draft horse community together to build experiences and fellowship.” – Dave Pokrandt
