Nikwax Rug Wash – Horse Blanket Cleaner

Keep your horse's blankets clean, breathable, and performing at their best.

A good horse blanket is an investment in your horse's comfort and protection. Nikwax Rug Wash is a specialized cleaner designed for waterproof horse blankets and turnout rugs, helping remove dirt, sweat, and grime without damaging their water-repellent finish.

Unlike ordinary laundry detergents, which can leave residues that interfere with waterproof performance, Nikwax Rug Wash cleans technical fabrics while helping maintain their breathability and water repellency.

Whether you're washing a lightweight rain sheet or preparing a heavyweight turnout blanket for another Canadian winter, proper cleaning helps extend the life of your blankets and keeps your horse comfortable.

Protect Your Investment

Horse blankets work hard, especially through wet weather and long Canadian winters. Dirt and regular use can reduce their effectiveness, but replacing a blanket isn't always necessary.

Regular cleaning with Nikwax Rug Wash helps maintain its protective qualities and prepares it for reproofing with Nikwax Rug Proof when additional water repellency is needed.

At Alberta Carriage Supply, we believe in looking after the equipment that looks after your horse.

Always follow the blanket manufacturer's washing instructions. For blankets that need additional waterproofing, follow cleaning with Nikwax Rug Proof.
